Values Education as a course aims to improve incoming college students’ knowledge and psychosocial skills through increased awareness of personal values and strengths that are helpful in making life decisions and actions. The course is divided into four modules: personality development, understanding values, self-regulated learning, and career planning. This course shall guide the students in getting to know themselves better by focusing on understanding personal values and self-regulated learning to guide them in career planning and goal-setting as they enter college.
This course shall make use of varied activities to facilitate value clarification and understanding thereby guiding them to effectively deal with the changes accompanying college education. The activities in each module are designed to allow students to engage in self-reflection and develop strategies for self-improvement. At the end of this course, students are expected to have a better grasp of their values and personal strengths and be prepared to start their college journey.
